Would you hire a Christian? How are Christians perceived in the workplace? What does it mean to “wear your faith naturally” when you are being hired or hiring?
Katherine Leary is head of Marketplace Ministries at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, former CEO of e-Learning company Pensare, and former president of Private Satellite Network (PSN). She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Distance Learning Association and holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration.
Dean Hovey is President and CEO of MagnaWare, Inc.,
producers of software components designed to complement and interoperate with Human Resource Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems from SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Recruitsoft. MagnaWare’s core Document Understanding Technology automates data capture to speed business processes and leverage employee networks. Previously Mr. Hovey was Sr. Vice President of Pensare, Inc., a provider of eLearning business solutions for large organizations. that partnered with the world’s top business schools to merge MBA content with current best business practices.
Prior to Pensare, Mr. Hovey held the position of Vice President Business Development and General Manager of Caere Corporation’s Imaging Products Division. Caere brought Optical Character Recognition technology to the masses with its market-leading software OmniPage. Mr. Hovey also served as general partner of Avalon Ventures. Before entering the venture capital industry, Mr. Hovey founded a computer accessories company Trace Systems, Inc., a robotics start-up Elfin Technologies, and the Product Design firm
Hovey Kelley Design, now IDEO. Mr. Hovey is the author of several patents and holds BS and MS degrees from Stanford University in General Engineering Product Design.
John Mumford is a Founding Partner, Crosspoint Venture Partners.
John founded Crosspoint Venture Partners in 1970 and in that time has >invested in numerous successful technology and business-to-business companies. He was co-founder of 4 public companies: Hello Direct, Inmac, Office Club (Office Depot) and Ariba. He has 12 years hands-on operating experience, as well as 20 years of seed venture capital investment experience. John currently sits on 12 portfolio company Boards including Founding Chairman of E2open and Comergent. He earned an MBA from Stanford.
