Milo Medin, Chief Technology Officer, Excite@Home
Mr. Medin oversees the development of Excite@Home’s high-speed backbone. @Home’s performance-engineered scalable network removes Internet “traffic jams” and enables true end-to-end management. In addition, the Network employs replication and caching technologies that dramatically improve network efficiency.

Prior to joining Excite@Home, Medin served as project manager at NASA Ames Research Center. During his tenure, he directed the NASA National Research and Education Network project that, in combination with partners at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, deployed a high-speed national ATM infrastructure connecting major supercomputing and data archiving centers. He also supervised the primary west coast Internet interconnect network. In addition, he pioneered the global NASA Science Internet project, providing network infrastructure for science at more than 200 sites in 16 countries and 5 continents, including Antarctica, and initially helped establish the TCP/IP protocol as an industry standard.

Before NASA, Medin held various positions at Science Applications, Inc., programming supercomputers for defense program activities at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab and Los Alamos National Lab, under contract to the Defense Nuclear Agency.

Medin has a BS in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Jeremy Rivera, The Door
Jeremy Rivera serves as the founder and teaching pastor of The Door, a ministry of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church that is embracing the post-modern generation on the Peninsula with the gospel of Christ. While finishing up a degree in Finance and International Business from Hawaii Pacific University, Jeremy had originally intended on working in investment banking. He had served a four-year summer internship with the Federal Reserve Bank and had no plans to enter the vocational ministry. However, while surfing in Hawaii, he was struck by Walt Whitman’s striking words, “the powerful play of life goes on and you may contribute a verse.” God revealed to him that his “verse” to the play of life would best be invested by giving his life away to those things that would last for all eternity, Christ and people. Jeremy graduated from International Theological Seminary with an M.A. in Biblical Studies while starting a ministry in Hawaii called The Bridge, which continues to thrive in reaching the next generation with the unchanging gospel. He enjoys playing guitar, fly-fishing, golf and writing.
