Participant Bios
Michael Yang, CEO of NetGeo was the founder and CEO of mySimon - selected by Time Digital as one of Top 25 e-Commerce sites in 1999. mySimon was acquired by CNET for $700M in January 2000 and has become the world-leader in online comparison shopping. From 1984 to 1998, Michael held technical and executive positions with several Silicon Valley high-tech companies including the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Intergraph Corp., Samsung Electronics Corp., and Jazz Multimedia Inc. Michael is a member of Governor George W. Bush’s Information Technology Advisory Council and the Silicon Valley Bush 2000 Committee. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, an MBA from the Haas School of Business, and an MS in computer science from Columbia University.
Drew Field, senior pastor, Silicon Valley Project (a new church plant in the Bay Area). Drew was an investment banker specializing in media and entertainment companies until 1992, when Drew left his Wall Street career to attend Westminster Theological Seminary. Upon graduation, Drew returned to New York City, where he was an Associate Pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian. In 1999, Drew was interim pastor at The Village Church in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Drew and his wife Donna have three children: Timothy, Sarah and Elizabeth.
Birdie Reznicek, Enterprise Director for Golden Gate Community Inc., a community development non-profit that is part of the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund (REDF) portfolio. She is responsible for the development of social purpose businesses that create jobs and training opportunities for individuals in recovery from homelessness and substance abuse. Prior to entering the world of social entrepreneurship, Birdie was a Director at MetLife and interned at Booz Allen & Hamilton. Birdie was a Wharton undergrad at the Univ. of Penn and a ’98 graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
