Participant Bios
John Brandon, Executive Vice President, Lightspan, and President, Academic Systems Corporation
John has served in his current position since Lightspan acquired Academic Systems in September 1999. For the 10 years prior to joining Academic Systems, Mr. Brandon was Vice President and General Manager of North America for Adobe Systems. He also held sales management positions at both General Parametrics Corporation and Texas Instruments.
Over the past two years, John has organized multiple panels of Silicon Valley executives to visit business schools around the country to promote and encourage integrity and ethics in the marketplace.
Mark Mitchell, Senior Pastor, Central Peninsula Church
Mark Mitchell began his service at Central Peninsula Church in 1986 and is currently serving as the Teaching Pastor. Prior to his service at Central Peninsula Church, he served as Youth Pastor at Valley Community Church in Pleasanton, California for three and one-half years.
Mark Mitchell was born and raised in the San Francisco Peninsula area. He met Christ at the age of 17 and has been passionate about studying and teaching the Scripture ever since. After graduating from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, he attended Scribe School at Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California from 1979 to 1981 and attended Denver Seminary in Denver, Colorado and in 1987 earned a Master of Arts degree in Church History. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry degree in preaching from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.
Mark has been married to Lynn for the past 21 years and they have three children. Mark loves to read, jog and coach his kids in youth sports.
